CONCILIATION COUNCIL.

DAIRY WORKERS' DISPUTE. Another full day was devoted yesterday by the Conciliation Council, under the presidency of the commissioner, Mr. T. Harlo Giles, to the hearing of the industrial dispute between the Auckland Creameries and Cheese and Butter Factories' Employees' Union and their employers. The council sat from 9 a.m. until 6.30 p.m., when an adjournment until Tuesday next was agreed to, Mr. H. E. Pacey, one of the assessors for the employers, having to leave for Wellington fast evening. A large number of the clauses were amicably adjusted yesterday, most of the important points in Hie dispute being settled. A number of minor points still remain to be adjusted. In view of the fact that no award has previously been made in the dairy industry, and the importance of the interests involved, the council has found it necessary to devote a great deal of time to the case. It is calculated that from 1600 to 2000 employees are interested in the dispute.
