The Court was composed of Mr. F. O'B. Loughnan, S.M., and Captain Collins. After hearing evidence the Court found that (1) the Result was properly equipped and found for making the voyage; (2) the striking on the reef and subsequent wreck of tho vessel were not due to any act of negligence or incompetency of the master (Thomas Reeves), but it was considered that he committed an error of judgment in standing into the little bay at the north end of Torrenß Bay too close to the shore; and (3) after the vessel struck nothing could have been done by the master to save her.. Costs were allowed, to bo paid by the Marine Department, and the master's certificate was returned. ' THE MONOWAI." The Monowai arrived from Southern -ports at mid-day yesterday and berthed at the Queen's Wharf. .She is timed to sail again for Southern ports at 2 p.m. to-morrow.
