TO-DAY'S EDITION,
To-day's issue of the Auckland WeeklT News contains an excellent variety of highly interesting pictures. A fine doublepage view of Ngauruhoe'w smoking cona conveys an idea of the striking nature oi some of the scenery of New Zealand's National Park. A page of Auckland views includes some very pleasing glimpses of the city and suburbs, and of the harbour* and si'-aside resorts, while a half-page view from a seaplane is a striking picture of the city and portion of the waterfrontTopical events illustrated include the Wellington Racing Club's Summer Meeting, the gala at New Brighton, the loss of the German cruiser Goeben, and the Dominion bowling 'tournament. Pictures dealing with the war comprise striking scenes during the- great Italian retreai from the Isonzo; Jaffa, now occupied by British troops; a cartoon by the Weekly News' special artist showing the three great Entente allies shoulder to shoulder on the western front,'and recent portraits of Their Majesties the. King and Queen of the Belgians. The roll of honour this week contains portraits of nearly 100 New Zealand heroes who have made the I supreme sacrifice.
