OBITUARY.
MR. D. GARDNER, OF ROTORUAi, The proprietor of the Rotoma Chronicle, Mr. David Gardner, died early yesterday morning as the result of an attack of asthma.
Mr. Gardner, who was a native of Scotand, 67 years of age, resided for many years in Queensland, coming to New Zealand and purchasing the Rotorua "Chronicle about 16 years ago. He took an active part in local affairs, being connected with practically every publio organisation in the town. At the time of his death he was president of the Rotorua Chamber of Commerce, and chairman of the Fir; Board.
