The Cryst&late Cup competitions were won by E. Goodhew. Auckland, E. Con/jdon. Wellington, and H. Seideberg, Dunedin. The longest game on record without a rest was played botween two well-known English amateurs. Messrs. Pretty' and Bain, who played a match for 25 consecutive hours. Pretty scored 5190 to his opponent's 4035. A pedometer carried by the winner indicated that he walked 241 miles in the course of the game.
