VEILED PHRASE BELIEVED TO BE ATTACK ON KAISER CONTINUANCE OF POLITICAL FERMENT IN BERLIN. Australian and Jr.Z. (Received 8.15 p.m.) AMSTERDAM, Jan. 28. The Deutsche Tages Zeitung, a pan-German organ, openly summons the German people to revolt. It says: "'We have a Judas among us. He appears in the red court mantle of Germany's hangman." The paper asks: " Who will save Germany from this traitor if not the German people l and adds, "Germans help yourselves and God will help you." It is understood that the phrase "Germany's hangman " refers to the Kaiser. The Frankfort Gazette reports an unprecedented tumult in Berlin among political circles. 1 The pan-Germans are again declaring that Generals Hindenburg and Ludendorf threaten to retire. The Deutsche Tages Zeitung assails Dr. von Kuhlraann, Count Czernin, Baron von Herding, and Count Rodern, the Finance Minister. The paper begs the confederated German princes to intervene energetically to prevent Germany from sinking into the abyss which four men are preparing . for her, adding that the King of Bavaria has already approached the Kaiser on the matter. ' The moderate newspapers angrily comment on a telegram from the King of Saxony to a pan-German meeting to the effect that the whole German people demand a military peace. ' WASHINGTON, Jan. 28. Considerable interest is manifested in the ologne Gazette's statement that Count Czernin has forwarded his speech to Mr. Wilson, ' but, the State Department denies that the speech has been received. The Frankfurter Zeitung states that the Chancellor, Baron von Hertling, will shortly make an additional statement with a positive declaration regarding | Belgium.
