Austrian and German airmen have resumed their attacks upon undefended cities. They cannot pretend there is any military objective, for they dropped bombs through thick clouds, rendering any aim impossible. Ninety bombs dropped on Treviso in six raids between seven at night and daybreak, destroyed several houses, burying 15 civilians. There was greater material damage, but fewer victims at Mestre, six miles north-west of Venice, where they bombed at random and hit three hospitals, wounding three nurses.
