OVATION TO MINISTER. A. and N.Z. LONDON". Jan. 28. Sir Auckland Geddes, Minister in Charge of National Services, unexpectedly accepted an invitation to speak at a meeting of Mersey engineers. He spoke for an hour and a-half, and then spent two hours in answering hecklers. His patience and candour impressed the crowd, who gave him an ovation at the close of the meeting, though the resolution against the Mar-power Bill was carried.
