LONDON, Jail. 28. j The Dublin steam packet boat Cork was torpedoed last night amidships and sank in five minutes. No warning was given. Seven passengers and five of the crew were drowned. The Irish Daily Telegraph, Londonderry, states that the Cunard liner Andania, carrying 40 passengers and 200 of a crew, was torpedoed off the Ulster coast. The ship was abandoned, and all hands picked up. The liner, however, did not sink, and it is hoped that she would be brought into port. A later message states that there is littlo hope that the vessel will reach port. A list hampered tho lowering of the boats. One was stove in, but the occupants were rescued. The Andania carried mails for Australia. Renter. LONDON, Jan. 28. Four stokers wore killed by the torredo which sank the .Andania. The Andania is a steel twin-screw steamer of 13,405 tons gross, 520 ft in length, 64ft beam, and 45ft in depth. She was built in 1913 by Scott's Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, Ltd., Greenock.
