FOUNDRY WORKERS' PAY.

DISPUTE AT THE THAMES.

"STOP WORK" MEETINGS HELD

[BT TELEGRAPH.—OWN' CORRESPONDS^.] THAMES. Tuesday. A " stop-work " meeting of the engineers employed at Price's foundry was held to-day to consider the matter of alleged insufficient pay for boring. The parties are very reticent, but particulars gathered indicate that one man engaged in drilling is paid the award rates for that work. For boring, however, a higher rate is payable, and when the man in question is engaged in that work it is stated that he only receives the drilling rate. The same machine does either work. The trouble lias arisen from the fact that another man. a non-unionist, i? said to be paid the higher rate for boring. The meetings held to discuss the matter have been behind closed doors. The result of the discussion has not transpired.
