PRIMARY SCHOOLS.

The executive of the Auckland Primary School Committees' Association, at its last meeting, discussed a lesolulion passed at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Educational Institute, in favour of taking the appointment of teachers entirely out of the hands of education boards, and placing it under the control of the Education Department in Wellington. The executive has sent for a copy of the resolution, in ordor that the matter can be fully discussed at the next meeting of the association. The prosident, Mr. J. P. McPhail, was appointed to represent the association on the executive of the National Apple Show, to be held in Auckland this year. The Primary School Committees' Association has brought under the notice cf the Board of Education the following resolution passed at its last meeting:—" That in the interest of the health of school children it is extremely desirable that the bubble drinking fountain already installed in some of the schools, be adopted at all the schools where possible -within th© jurisdiction of the Auckland Education Board." The board has referred the matter to its architect for his report.
