ESCAPEES FROM CAMP.

THREE STILL AT LIBERTY. GUARD SYSTEM NOW ALTERED [by TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON, Monday. Three of the four military prisoners who escaped from Trentham camp on January 8 are still at liberty, namely, John Larkin Robert Ernest Larkin, and George Henry Holleyman. The fourth escapee, Alexander Arthur Walker, gave himself up to the. authorities shortly after the escape. The sergeant of the guard was tried by a district court-martial last week, and, it is understood that he was found "not guilty" on the charge that, without lawful excuse, he permitted the four soldiers to escape. The finding of the court, it is expected, will be promulgated this week. Since the escape, plans which had been previously decided upon for better organisation of the detention camp, have been completed. Instead of having a sentry inside the camp, a high platform has now been erected all around the outside, from which the guard can always see what goes on within. For observation at night a large arc-lamp has been placed in the vicinity.
