Serious fighting is reported from .Brest Litovsk between the Russians and Roumanians on January £5 in the vicinity of Galatz. The ninth, and a portion of the tenth, Siberian divisions attempted to break through in order to regain, Russian territory, from which they were cut .off by the Roumanians. Heavy artillery and monitors on'the Danube were engaged. The attempts so far have failed, but the fighting continues.
