I FATALITY AT HE'LENSVILLE. i Details of the accident at Helensvilleon 1 January 10, resulting in the death of Mrs. • Stokes, caretaker of Parakai baths, show , that Mrs. Stokes commenced to boil water 'on a spirit lamp, which upset., the burn- ' ing spirits covering her dress and fhoes. j Being unable to extinguish the flames by ' smothering them with clothes, she got into I a cold bath. By this time, however, all i her clothes were burnt, and one leg was I very severely injured. Mrs. Stokes suci ceeded in extinguishing the flames in the water, and a few minutes later went to the caretaker's house, where she was , given flour to dress her injuries.
