ARTILLERY DUELS IN THE FRENCH SECTOR®. Australian and N.Z. and Eeutcr. , LONDON, Oct. 7. A French communique states: Artillery duels continue in the Vauxaillon, Lafiaux, and Hurtebise sectors, and on the left bank of the Meuse, north of Verdun, notably north of Hill 344 and towards Bezonvaux. We repulsed a powerful raid against Navarin' Farm, in the Champagne. Sir Douglas Haig reports: Men of the Leicestershire Regiment made a successful raid west of Cite St. Elie, in the Lens district.
