[by telegraph,—special correspondent.] 1 WELLINGTON, Monday. \ Petitions wore presented, to the 'House j of Representatives this evening from f scheelite producers and miners in Ofcago j and Marlborough, asking the House to j immediately insist that, so long as schee- j lite oontinues to be needed by the, Imperial j I Government, the price paid to Now Zea- l I land producers shall be at least as high 1 as is being paid by the Imperial Govern- 1 ment to neutrals and allies, that is, at I least 90s per unit, or, in the alternative, * if the Imperial Government has not. suffi- '* cient need of the Now Zealand scheelite to pay this price the House will at once lift the present embargo on the shipping by producers of their own soheeiite ana that they thus will be placed in a position to export to America, France, or any country allied to Great Britain.
