DEAD SOLDIERS' EFFECTS.
[by telegraph.— CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON. Thursday. Replying to Mr. t H. Poland (Ohinemuri) in Parliament to-day, th 6 Minister for Defence said that instructions were issued two years ago Shat worthless effects of dead soldiers were not to be sent back to parents, but watches arid trinkets were to be returned. He regretted if in any chso this instruction .had not been observed.
