BRITISH RAID TRENCHES NEAR HULLUCH.
ARTILLERY ACTIVE ON THE RIVER ANCRE. Australian and N.Z. Cable. (Received 11 8.m.) LONDON. Jan. 9. Sir Douglas Haig reports: "We successfully entered trenches opposite Hulluch. Our artillery is active on both banks of the Ancre, in the Gommecourt salient. We also caused an explosion north of Wieltje."
