THIRTY-FOUR FIT MEN.
Recetoting was brisker yesterday than it has been for same considerable time. During the day 42 men signified their willingness to join the Expeditionary Force. Of this number 34 were passed as fit, five were deferred, and three were declared below the physical standard required. AUCKLAND CITY TO FIND 301. Following is the allotment of recruiting i district quotas for the twenty-seventh reinforcements, which will go into camp in March, and for which voluntary enlistment la now proceeding: —
TWENTY-SIXTH DRAFT. The national shortage for the twentyBiith reinforcements— recruiting for which closed on Saturday—is 1212. This means that slightly over naif of the draft will require to be made up' by ballot now proceeding from among members of the first division of the Expeditionary Force Reserve. The twenty-sixth draft i will mobilise four weeks from date. ■ The following table shows the quotas I asked for from each recruiting district and I the shortages they will require to fill by the ballot:—
