The six days' voluntary course of instruction under paragraph 318, General Regulations for Officers (Territorial and Senior Cadet) will be held at Narrow Neck Camp, Auckland, from January 20 to 26, inchk sivo. No pay will be given, but travelling allowances will be granted for days going to and returning from Ihe course. Work will commence at 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 20. Officers may report in camp on the afternoon of thcr 19th, but must notify district headquarters of their intention to do so, in order that the necessary preparations may bo made. Examination "A" will be held in conjunction with the course, and those officers eligible, except ' Motor Service Corps officers, will be examined. Staff-Sergeant-Major C Pollard, Q.M.S. of No. 16 group, Milton, has been awarded the long service and good conduct medal. In addition to the gold braid which may be worn by all soldiers wounded during the present war, the following may be worn by all officers and soldiers who, having been on active service during the %, present war, have been returned to New Zealand for any reason whatsoever, - and are employed in a military capacity, on headquarters, district or Expeditionary Force camp staffsA strip of scarlet Russia braid, 2in in length, sewn vertically on the left sleeve of the jacket. If »n officer or soldier has been wounded and is wearing a strip, or strips, of gold Russia braid, the scarlet braid will be worn in a line with and on the outer side of the gold braid. Those officers or soldiers who are not entitled to wear the gold braid, but are eligible to wear the scarlet braid, will wear the latter in the v same position as that laid down for tho . former. The ribbon of the newly-instituted Military Medal is dark blue in colour, having, in the centre three white and two crimson stripes alternating.
