A MISGUIDED MOTHER. "DID IT FOR BOY'S GOOD." I J A mother who hid her son from justice I was fined £2 and costs in the Police j Court yesterday by Mr. F. V. Frazer, S.M. The woman was charged with concealing her son, an absconder from the Nelson Industrial School. Chief-Detective McMahon stated that after the boy had been committed to the [school he was licensed out to his mother, but in consequence of his behaviour the police had occasion to look for himWhen they called at the woman's house she denied that the lad was there, but |it was discovered that she was hiding him and had subsequently shipped him to Sydney. The woman stated that she did it for the lad's good, and that she was goin? to join him. -Mr. Frazer pointed out that it was a serious offence to attempt "to put a spoke in the wheels of justice."
