ITALIANS PRESSING AUSTRIANS ON CARSO PLATEAU.
ANOTHER STRONG LINE OF ENTRENCHMENTS PIERCED. Australian and X.Z. Cable Association. ROME. August 14. An Italian communique states: " We continue to press the enemy on the Carso Plateau. We pierced another strong line of entrenchments east of Madlogem, and captured 800 prisoners. Artillery duels are in progress at Gorz, the Austrians shelling the town and the bridges over the Isonzo. In short and sharp encounters elsewhere we repulsed the Austrians everywhere. Austrian aviators bombed Monfalcone and other places, but there were no casualties, and no damage was caused.''
