EYEBROWS AND LASHES.

Wk cannot al! have the pretty arched brows which, in the minds of some artists', are an essential to beauty, but at least we can help to improve their shape.

Do you ever brush your eyebrows ? "Never." I can hear you answer. But you should, and you should use a little eyebrow brush for the purpose, and coax them upwards in the shape you wish them to take. You should brush the lashes upwards also, regularly. By doing so you will help to get that pretty upward curve which is so much admired. With care we can train our eyebrows and eyelashes into something very like the artist's high ideal of beautv.

\ ery light eyebrows and lashes can be darkened by the regular application of vaseline at night. Apply the vaseline very caiefuily. A match should be used, round which a piece of cotton-wool has been twirled. Cocoa-butter is also good for darkening the lashes and making them thick.

If you want to get them darker still — for very light lashes often incline to give the face an insipid look— of the best cosmetics to use is a water cosmetic. It can be. had in several shades of brown, and it can be made lighter in accordance with the proportion in which you dilute it. It is wise to apply it very much diluted at first, until you have got accustomed to using it and know just what shade you want to get.

The straight, pushed-back-from-the forehead hairdressing is very good for the eyebrows, for if you allow your hair to fall loosely over the eyebrows it tends to wear them awav.

With tin's style of coiffure you must be careful to avoid the frowning habit, foT, remember, it has a tendency to show up the tiniest of wrinkles, and this is why none but those with perfectly smooth foreheads can stand their hair done in this way.
