BRONTE CENTENARY.

Thr centenary of Charlotte Bronte's birth was celebrated in the parish church at Haworth last month. Hymns bv Charlotte and Anne Bronte were sung.

Bishop Welldon, in an address, said that never did human genius assert itself so suddenly and surprisingly as in the three gifted sisters, and never was it extinguished so suddenly and ruthlessly by the angel of death. Literary history afforded no parallel to the lives of the Haworth Brontes.
