MEMORIAL TO THE FALLEN.

A meeting of the Auckland Dramatic and i Vaudeville Employees' Association was ', held last evening to further the movement ; for raising a fund for equipping the new j children's ward at the Auckland Hospital j as a memorial to the soldiers, sailors, and ; j nurses who have fallen in the war. Mr. IW. G. Bower presided. It was announced j that all the arrangements for the benefit : matinee to be given at His Majesty's Theatre to-morrow afternoon had been completed. The committee appointed to arrange the "hard-up" social to be held at tho Royal Skating Rink, Khyber Pass Road, to-morrow night, reported that all details had been dialt with. Various committees were appointed to further arrangements for a street demonstration cm May 12. Numerous offers of establishing stalls on this occasion were received ; from various societies. The meeting de- , cided that a concert on Monday, May 15, and a dramatic entertainment on May 16 [ should be given in His Majesty's Theatre. llt is hoped by these means tc raise a 1 j fund of £3000, which is tho amount necessary to fully equip the new ward.
