SERIOUS RIOTING IN THE CITY OF DUBLIN.

SEQUEL TO MID ORGANISED BY SIB EOGEK CASEMENT. . i REBELS IN POSSESSION OF SEVERAL PART 3 OF THE TOWN. MILITARY BELIEVED TO HAVE CONTROL OF SITUATION. (Received April 26, 6.10 p.m.) London, April 25. A sensation was caused in the House of Commons to-day by a statement by Mr. Augustine Birrell, Chief Secretary for Ireland, that grave disturbances broke out in Dublin on Monday. Before the ■ secret proceedings began a question was asked by Captain J. Craig, Unionist member for Down, and, in replying, Mr. Birrell gave details of the outbreak. Mr. Birrell said it was apparently in connection with Sir Roger Casement's raid. He stated: " The rebels seized the post office. Twelve lives were lost. Telegraphic communication has been cut off, and I am unable to secure further news, but the House may rest assured that the situation is well in hand. There have been arrests, but I am unable to give names." Mr. Birrell added thai; so far he had heard of twelve deaths. He was afraid that four or five soldiers had been killed. Colonel R. G. Sherman-Crawford, Unionist member for Belfast, asked: "Was Dublin in the hands of the rebels till seven o'clock on Monday night!" Mr. Birrell replied: " They were in possession of four or five different parte of the city." Mr. Pemberton Billing, member for East Herts, asked whether " the traitor Casement." would be shot forthwith. Mr. Asquith declined to reply.
