ROMAN CATHOLIC SCHOOLS.
TEACHERS' CONFERENCE.
The Roman-Catholic Teachers' Conference was continued at St. Mary's Convent yesterday. Papers on "Secondary Education" and " Literature and Art" were read at the morning session. In the afternoon a paper on "Civics" caused much discussion. On the subject of history, it was decided by the conference that steps to taken towards tho publication of a history book to be used in Catholic schools, 'it being considered that the history in use in New Zealand schools did not deal sufficiently with certain phases in the history of the Catholic Church.
