INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION.
TIME NOT OPPORTUNE.
PROPOSED WINDOW DISPLAYS
A meeting of the council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, held yesterday afternoon, was attended by the vice-presi-dent, Mr. A. M. Ferguson, in the chair, and Messrs. L. J. Bagnall, 11. W. Hudson, S A. Longtiet, A. A. Martin, A. B. Roberton, Thomas Peacock. J. H. Upton, A. M. Clark, E. C. Browne, H. C. Tewsley, and G. Reid.
The question of holding an industrial exhibition in Auckland, similar to that recently held in Wellington, was referred to by the chairman, who reported that the president, Mr. Anderson, and himself had attended two meetings with Messrs. S. J. Harbutt and D. W. Buttle, president and vice-president respectively of the Auckland Industrial Association, and it had been definitely decided that an exhibition at the present time was not advisable. It was, however, suggested that a window display of Empire products might be made with advantage, and preliminary steps wero being taken in this direction in which tho " All 'for Empire" League would join.
Messrs. A. Tyree, M. M. Louisson, and W. A. Thompson were elected members of the chamber.
