MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
ACTION LASTS FOUR DAYS. A civir, action which lias occupied Mr. E. Page, S.M., for four days was concluded at the Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon. Clyde Blomfield (Mr. A. M. Gould), builder, of Takapuna, claimed from Harry Colledge (Mr. R, McVeagh, instructed by Messrs. Levin and Abbot), printer, of Queen Street, and George Wright (Mr. A. 11. Mowlam), baker, of Karangahapo Road, the sum of £75 4s. The defendant Colledge filed a counterclaim for £6.
The plaintiff stated' that on November 23, 1915, the defendants engaged him to effect certain alterations and repairs to a shop in Queen Street. ■ The plaintiff carried out the work, the cost being £159 5s 6d. He added 10 per cent, t.o this charge, making the amount dne £175 4s. Plaintiff received £100, and now sought to recover the balance.
After evidence had been heard at length, the magistrate gave judgment for plaintiff against the defendant Wright for £63 148, with costs according to scale, and against the defendant Colledge for £11 10s. with, costs. The magistrate allowed tho counter-claim for £6.
