TOWN BOAIID MEETING.
At the monthly meeting of the Town Board a letter was received from tho Minister for Internal Affairs, notifying that the proclamation altering the boundaries of the Town Hoard area so as to include the Lockerbie Estate had been prepared, and would bo gazetted shortly. The chairman was appointed to represent the board at the Arbitration. Court in Hamilton, and it was decided that in future the board pay tho travelling expenses of any delegates appointed by the board. A draft of tho proposed building by-laws was submitted Dy the sub-com-mittee, Messrs. Gifford and Hanan, The by-laws will be confirmed at a special meeting in March. It was resolved to request permission from the Piako County Council to put some seata in tho vacant section next to the Town Board Offico for the benefit of country people and visitors. Mr. J. Dyke was appointed dog registrar, the fees payable to liim to be Is for sheep and cattle dogs, and Is 6d for all others. Mr. Hanan reported that he had ascertained that there were half-a-dozen residents who had had nraclical experience with firo brigades, and ho hoped to be able to get a brigade formed shortly. It was decided to put a second coat of tar on the main footpaths, provided the residents nay for tho tar. Tho clerk reported that thero would bo a credit balance of £122 after accounts had been paid. At a meeting of the Horticultural Society Mr. J. Johnstone, who practically started tho society, resigned from the position of committee secretary, as he has enlisted. The resignation was accepted with regret. At tho annual meeting of the Morrinsville Oddfellows' Lodge, the following officers were elected for the ensuing term:—Secretary, Bro. Cleghorn; treasurer, Bro. W. Noels; delegate for the district, Bro. W, Neels; trustee, Bro. C. M. Gummer. The finances were shown to be in a good condition. A presentation was made to Bro. Seville, the retiring D.P., at a recent meeting of the local Druids' Lodge. Bro. Leo-Martin, of Hamilton, theD.P. elect for the district, in presenting him with a P.U.P. collar, referred to the many erood qualities of tho retiring officer. Bro. Barlow was <ilso presented with a framed P. A. diploma, in recognition of past services.
