The barometer has been unsteady, and strong westerly winds have predominated. TO-DAY'S FORECAST. Present indications are for strong westerly winds, backing to southerly, the barometer rising shortly everywhere. Expect unsettled, cloudy, and colder weather, with rain generally, and some snow on the higher levels in the South Island.
