■ I TAKAPUNA GREEN. The Ta.kapuna bowling erecn was opened for play on Saturday by the president, Mr. W. Blomfield. Owing to the uncertainty of j the weather there were only a few ladies i present. HELIERS CLUB. j The St. Heliers Bowling Club opened its [ third season on Saturday, and although the weather was not good, the full 21 heads were I played. This season the official opening was ! dispensed with and the cash generally spent on the function will be devoted to the bowlers' fund for the wounded soldiers.. In ! spite of the inclement weather quite a party I of visitors was present from the various ! clubs, all of whom spoke in glowing terms i oi the improved playing qualities of the i green. The president. Mr. Percy White, in i a few welt-chosen words, welcomed the visi- : tors, and Mr C. G. Laurie, president of the '■ Auckland Centre, also made some appro- ' priate remarks.
