HELIER'S FATALITY. •""-"/-: DEATH OF KING'S COLLEGE ' BOY. \-Wm -- ' . ~3B| A shooting accident, which resulted in ?1 Leith Bevins, 16 years of age, losing Lis H life, occurred at St. Heliers Bay on Sunday afternoon. ~-^ It appears that Bevins, in company - with Robert McFarland, 20 years of a<-e went out shooting birds at about 2 p.m' 8 on Sunday. They were in a gully about"S a-quarter of a mile from McFarland*s "■■■ house when McFarland's gun, a small '-M sporting gun, slightly larger than a pea- JB rifle, suddenly went off, and the charge ?* struck Bevins in the neck, injuring the spinal cord, and causing paralvsis. 'H He was conveyed to the house, and Dr. -J Dudley, who was summoned, attended to '. "', his injuries. The boy, however, died If at 11 a.m. yesterday. The trigger of the gun, it is stated, J| only required a very slight pull to dis- 'I charge it. |! An inquest will be opened this morn- ?| ing by Mr. F. V.
