Bankart, has been promoted by the Auckland Provincial Licensed \ictuallers' Association. It has decided to conduct an art union in connection with the Auckland Cup. which will be run on December 26. The full amount required to furnish the prizes offered will be subscribed bv members of the association, and over" £2000 .has already been guaranteed. The art I union will be drawn in the Town Hall on November 27 under the supervision of the carnival executive. " PICTURE DAY." ARRANGEMENTS COMPLETED. Many thousands of tickets are now on sale at each of the picture theatres in connection with the Picture Dav, which is to be held in all picture theatres on Wednesday, October 20. The tickets will admit the purchaser to any one picture theatre on that day. Those wishing to book their seats may do so at WHdman and Arey's at an extra charge of one shilling a seatSpecial patriotic programmes will be screened, and it is expected that the patriotic fund will be augmented by a substantial amount.
