"SHOUTING."

Sir, —In these days of strain and stress, even if we are not prepared to give up our own glass of beer or spirit, sorely it is time the shouting system was abolished as it has been in a great many places in England, London included, where it lias been made a penal offence to pay for or supply drink to other persons. England has shown the way; cannot we follow? No one would be injured., while large numbers would be greatly benefited if our National Government adopted the Act which Mr. Lloyd George induced the British Government- to pass. It would not take long to do it, and the need becomes daily more pressing. C. T. Habris, President Auckland Prohibition League.
