MANGERE DISTRICT.
BOUNDARIES QUESTION.
(From the HEKALT> of October 4. 1665.) The annual meeting of the ratepayer* of this, district was held yesterday, at Mr. Roger's Criterion Hotel, Otahuhu, to transact the ordinary business. There was, however, a special proposition brought before the meeting, namely, the incorporation of the neighbourhood of Papatoetoe with the Mangere district, there was a very general"opinion that such incorporation -was desirable, but it could only be done by legally obliterating the present boundaries, and proclaiming by the Superintendent, or his deputy an entirely new "district, including the boundaries of the area to be incorporated. The area of Papatoeloe was* stated to be between 2000 and 3000 acres, that of Mangere 8000 acres. The meeting was adjourned for a week, when the formal bal-ance-sheet will be submitted, and such extraordinary business as may be brought forward relating to enclosing the outlying neighbourhood of Papatoetoe and Mangere within one legally defined district will be transacted.
