OFFICERS' RATES RAISED.

SCALE FOR PRESENT WAR.

The Naval and Military Pensions Committee recommends considerable advances in pensions for disabled officers and officers' widows, orphans and dependents. The new scales apply to the present war only. The rates for widows of navy lieutenants, sub-lieutenants, army lieutenants, and second lieutenants are raised to the existing rates for army captains. The pensions of disabled junior officers of both services are increased according to the degree of disability.
