REPORTS FROM THE ENEMY.
ADVANCE IN ALICIA. RUSSIANS IN RETREAT. (Received August. 30, 8-50 p.m ) Amsterdam, August 29. An Austrian official communique reports successes at Wladimir Wolynski and on the Zlota Lipa, in eastern Galicia. It states: " We broke the enemy's resistance along a 150 mile front. Everywhere the Russians arc retreating and are burning .villages. The number of prisoners we have taken has been increased to 10,000. General Ermolli occupied Zloczow, lo miles east of Lemberg, after the town had been set on lire by the Russians."
A German communique states that the enemy'? stubborn resistance south-eastward of Kovno has been broken. The Germans are pursuing the Russians, and have crossed the forest district eastward of Atigustowo, reaching the Dombrowo-Grodeck-Narewka line, also the sector eastward of the town of Narew. Prince Leopold of Bavaria is pursuing tie Russians through Bialowieska forest. Genoral von Macken sen pushed the Russians to the vicinity of Ivobrin.
ATTACKS ON GALLIPOLI.
TURKS CLAIM REPULSE. Amsterdam, August 29. A Turkish communique states that the enemy on Friday, after artillery preparation, made land and sea attacks at Anafarta against the Turkish right wing near K ire-sob. Tepe. Three attacks on the centre southward of Asoak Dere were all entirely unsuccessful, and were repulsed with severe losses. The Turkish artillery repeatedly hit a cruiser and damaged a transport and a tug. Repeated bomb attacks were made on the Turkish right wing at Ari Burnu on Friday night. Artillery and infantry fusillades occurred at Sedd-el-Bahr.
