AUSTRIANS RESUME BOMBARDMENT OF BELGRADE.
SERVIANS REPLY BY SHELLING SEMLIN. ENEMY'S ATTEMPT TO INTIMIDATE ROUM AN lA. XISH, August 15. It is officially reported • that the enemy on Thursday began to bombard Belgrade with large-calibre howitzers. The shells damaged private houses, but caused no casualties. The Servians thereupon bombarded Semlin and Pantchero, on the Austrian side of the Danube, a few shells causing the enemy to cease bombarding Belgrade. The Servian shells ignited several houses in Semlin. The inhabitants of Pantchero became panic-stricken, and fled. The newspapers interpret the attempt to cross the Danube at Golubatz as a demonstration to intimidate Roumania, or the beginning of the Austro-German plan to invade Servia at Orsova.
