KURANUI. •REPORT OF DIRECTORS. The first annual meeting of tho Ivuranui Gold Mining Company (No Liability) was to have been held at the office of tho secretary, Mr. J. W. ■ Nichol, VictoriaArcade, yesterday, but 'as there .'was 110 quorum it was adjourned for a week. Tho directors' first annual report states that the company is a reconstruction of the Kuranui Gold Mining Company, Ltd., and was incorporated in June, 1914. For the : first few months ■ after registration driving was carried on at the Magazine tunnel, but did not result in the discovery of anything of a payable nature, and as considerable • difficulty wag experienced in getting'in calls, owing no doubt to. the .war, the directors were reluctantly compelled toapply for protection , for the mine and cease operations. Six months' protection was granted 'in January last, and this has recently expired. Application , for a further six months' protection has been lodged. Tributes have been let in the mine, and are now being worked. . The directors trust , that at the expiration of tho period of protection now being asked for mining generally will have improved, and thus enable work to be resumed at the mine. In accordance with the articles of association the whole of the . directors retire from office, and, being eligible, offer themselves for re-election. •: WATCHMAN.. Two • £ topes were in progress on .the Middle Parallel reef, Watchman mine, Thames; last week, and fair grade ore was produced.
