STOCKS AND SHARES.

BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY. Business for the week opened quietly on the Stock Exchange yesterday. In standard stocks Bank of New Zealands (fully paid) were quoted by sellers at £16 12s at the first and second calls, and buyers were prepared to give £16. Later" in the day , sellers' quotations declined to £16 10s, but buyers did not quote. . New Zealand Insurances were in demand at £5 10s, but sellers held for £5 14s; Auckland Trams (ord.) changed hands at 21a 6d. A sale of Takapuna Tram and Ferries was reported at' 10s 3d. r

Waihis were available at 37s 6d, and buyers quoted 375. Sellers asked' 20s 3d for Talismans, and business was effected at 20s. Buyers offered 21s 9d for Waihi Grand Junctions, but sellers wanted 22s 3d.
