CAUGHT AT HUNTLY.
MENTAL HOSPITAL ESCAPEE. The young man who escaped from custody at the Avondale Mental Hospital during Sunday afternoon, was detained by the Huntly police yesterday, and brought back to Auckland. Shortly after five o'clock on Sunday the man was seen at Onchunga. when hi? appeal J to be leaking his way towards (Itahuhu. From that time until yesterday morning nothing was known of his movements. The police at Huntly were on the look out. and when the man walked through the township his description was telephoned to Auckland for verification. The arrest took plate outside the I'-wusbip. the patient making no rests tarn •. Tin- mail appears to he none l\w worse for his lone wall;, and states that he obtained ample food from householders en route.
