SUCCESS OF THE WAR LOAN
GERMANY DISTURBED. LONG WAR UNPOPULAR. London. July 19. German newspapers indicate that a disagreeable impression has been caused by the brilliant success of the British war loan. They do not mention the likelihood of a protracted war. that idea being unpopular. This gives credence to the report that the statement that the war will be- over by October was actually made by the Kaiser. GERMANS HOARD GOLD. BANKERS COMPLAINING. 'Received July 20. 11.55 p.re I Amsterdam, July 20. German bankers complain that the people are hoarding £30,000.000 of gold. They are appealing to patriots to bring the gold to the Redchsbank.
