MINING NEWS.
NEW SYLVIA. The manager of the New Sylvia mine, Thames, reports that las'/ week the reef in No. 2 stope was very heavily mineralised. In the stope coming north from No. 2 rise the reef opened out considerably, and a little free gold was seen occasionally. DOMINION. The crosscut at the Dominion mine, Karangahake, was advanced Bft last week, making the total distance driven 1735 ft. Good reef country continued to be penetrated. NEW WEST COAST COMPANY. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION'. J Christchdrch, Tuesday. A meeting of the provisional directors of Boatman's Consolidated Gold Mines, Ltd.. Reefton, was held last night, when a full allotment of £15.000 worth of shares was made. A director was appointed to go to Reefton to make preliminary arrangements to enable operations to be started with the least possible delay.
