SUDDEN DEATH.
ARMY PENSIONER'S END An* inquest was held by Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M.. district coroner, yesterday concerning the death of Samuel Cecil White Talbot, aged 59 years, an Imperial Army pensioner, who died suddenly at Devonport on the previous day. Annie Selwvn Bongard, a. chemist's assistant, employed by Mr. Rees George, Devonport, said that about 9 a.m. on Monday deceased visited the shop. He said he had indigestion, and asked -witness to give him something for it. He put his hand to his chest, as though it was difficult for him to breathe. Witness went behind the dispensing counter, and while theie heard Talbot fall. Witness returned to the front of the counter, and found deceased lying on the floor. He was breathing very heavily, and Dr. Atkinson was sent for. Dr. F. L. Atkinson said that when he arrived at Mr. Recs George's shop debased was lying on the floor. While witness was examining him he died. He made a post-mortem examination, and the cause of death, in his opinion, was endocarditis. A verdict was returned in accordance with the medical evidence.
