WAR ON SHIPPING.
BOMBS ON LINERS. EXTENSIVE GERMAN PLOT. New York, July 7. The port officials have disclosed the fact that on three Trans-Atlantic liners sailing from New York to Havre during May with contraband cargoes, bombs were discovered before their departure. It is believed that this was part of an extensive German plot to destroy as many of the allies' ships as possible. AIRMEN ATTACK STEAMER. BOMBS MISS THEIR MARK. Amsterdam, July 7.
Some Dutch sailors state that two airmen unsuccessfully bombed a British steamer in the North Sea. The vessel, by zig-zagging, avoided the bombs.
