HOW RUSSIAN CAVALRY STEMMED GERMAN RUSH.
EXHAUSTED INFANTRY RELIEVED AT CRITICAL MOMENT GERMANS DRIVEN BACK IN PANIC-STRICKEN FLIGHT. PETEOOEAD K June 21. . Official details of the fighting at Lubaczow, in Northern Galicia, show that a crisis was reached when the Germans succeeded in break- ' ing the Russian lino to the ' west .of Lubaczow, advancing . rapidly northwards. The Russian infantry, which spent four days' arduous fighting, became exhausted, and General Volodchenko ordered the ChcrnigofE Hussars, the Don Cossacks, and the Kinburn Dragoons, to charge.
The Germans fled • panic-stricken all along the line, and were repulsed till the German reserves took up their new front: The Russians lost 200 killed and wounded, but stopped the development of the enemy's success.
It is officially stated that the Kaiser was present at the battle of Grodek.
