Router's Petrograd correspondent says the culmination is approaching of the movement from the San towards Lemberg. It is hardly an exaggeration to describe the earlier fighting* though it cost tens of thousands of lives, as a mere outpost affair compared with what ii to come. The Russians had none the worst of the exchange in the fighting near Mosceiska, on the direct line between Przeinysl and Lemberg. This served the purpose of delaying the German advance, pending a final concentration on positions further eastwards. The decisive battle is likely to be fought at Grodek, about 17 miles south-west of Lemberg, where the Russians have the binefit of the lake country.
