ROfcKY NOOK CLUB'S MEETING. The feocky Nook bowling Club hold its fourteenth annual meeting \Oii Wednesday evening it> the club's pavilion, Now, North Road. Mr. Geo. L. Gladding occupied the chair, and there was a satisfactory attendance of members- The secretary's report and treasurer's statement, which were adopted, showed that the, club had a successful season. '■ The register of, members showed a slight increase, and financially the club improved its position. The olub was represented in most >of the local and country tournaments, ',®ncl F. J. H. Ellisdon and J. W. Butler were successful in carrying off the Te Aroha pairs competition., In club competitions tho championship singles was \von by F. J. ll>Ellisdon, with J. W. Butler runner-up, while 11. Abpden proved tho winner of the handicap .singles, with J. Pear<s> runner-up. The club pairs went to W. Cunningham and Geo. L. Gladding, With W. Cooper and. H. 15 t Fraser runners-up, the winners of tho club fours .being W. Napier.- L. Randall, P.N Smith.' and J, L. Wakerley. The first year a players championship was won by T. (Jentlos. . The election of officers', resulted ,as follows:—President, Mr- J. 'W.,Butler; vicepresidents. Messrs., W. IVvitie and W. Taylor: hon. secretary, Mr. "V. Hirst; hon. treasurer, Mr. W. J. Trophies for Hi© coming season .'were proraised by several members, . A 'gold star was also presented by one of the <ild members of tho club, Mr. T. H. Rathfone, this trophy to be for competition in singles play anion? members. As a recognition Jor past services Mr. Ratlibone was elected'* lifemember. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr. H. B. Fraser, the retiring secretary, who has held that position for the past sit years. Votes of thanks to the outgoing officers, tho ladies, and the press brought a. very enthusiastic meeting to ft close. Tho enthusiasm displayed by the members augurs well for the coming season.
ST. HELIERS CLUB. \ The annual meeting of the St. Hellers Bowling Club was hold in the board ofjace on Tuesday evening. Mr. G. F. Campbell, president, occupied the chair and there vf*s ft good muster of members. The report dealt fully with the past season's work acid showed the club had ft very successful season. Tho Croquet Club also had a, good yefir,' and both promise well for the coming season. The greons played woll throughout the year and gave every satisfaction. They are no«v coming forward well after tho recent totf' dressing and should be in first-class ordeK by the opening day. Tho treasurer's Balance-* shoot showed the club's finances to be in a' very satisfactory condition, tho sum of £25 being carried forward. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—President, Mr. Percy C White: vice-presidents, Mr. G. F. Campbell and Mr. J. MeHugli; hon. secretary, Mr. R. B. Lawrence: lion- treasurer. * Mr. F. Chambors: general committee, Messrs. G. Foster, W.. Wrafhall, and P. Norris: match committee, Messrs Duncan Simpson, W. Wra- ♦ hall, and P. Norris; club delegate, Mr. David Simpson; auditor, Mr J. W. Carr. A vote of thanks was tendered the ladies of the Croquet Club for managing the afternoon teas, also to the' press for services rendered, and to the outgoing officers.
CAMBRIDGE CLUB. The annual meeting of tho Cambridge Bowling Club waa hold in the pavilion on Tuesday ovening, Mr. T. F. Richards, president, ocoupying the chair. There was a good attendance. The secretary, Mr. H. Lewis, submitted a roport of the past year's operations, The number of members was shown at 66. _ Reference was made to the success attending tho Easter and South Auckland tournaments, held on the local greens. The balance-sheet showed a deficit of £131. The new pavilion accounts for this, but the deficiency shows a decrease each year. It was decided that the usual Easter tournament bo held. Reference was made to the enterprise shown by tho Domain Board in _ laying down a third bowling groon, which would be specially useful at tournament time. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as under:—President, Mr. T. F. Richards; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. Hooker and E. J. Wilkinson; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. H. Lewis (re-elected) auditor. Mr. J. Lundon; handicapper, Mr. ]• 0 Toole; green superintendent. Mr. F OToolo; committee, Messrs. A. H. Nicoll. J. Byrne, A. Curtain, J. Ferguson, S. Lewis. J. iH. i Hammond and S. Cowling; Match and Selection Committee, Messrs. TT Byrne, E. J. Wilkinson, R. Fisher, S. Lowis and the president ex officio; delegates to South Auckland bowling centre, tho president and Mr. S. Lewis: Tournament Committee, Messrs. F. O'Tooie. H. Lewis, A. Curtain and the president.
