FOR THE WOUNDED,
CONCERT AT GREY LYNN.
A dramatic and humorous concert, in aid of the Hospital Fund for returned wounded New Zealand soldiers, was held at the Richmond Hall, Grey Lynn, last night. The principal artist was' Mr Walter George Woodford. The hall* packed to the doors, and many persons were turned away. The concert was opened by the Unique Orchestra, which played an overture. Mr. Walter Woodford followed with "The Hell-Gate of Soissons" and tho nowfamous poem, "The Day," the latter item' stirring tho audience to thunderous applause. Mr. H. Stebbing was well received in a patriotic song. A humorous duet called "A.8.C." was given by Messrs. Alfred Maitland and Wilfrid Firth. Mr. Alfred Maitland sang with great success "Dear England." Miss Rita Ogilvie was at the piano. It is anticipated that the fund for the wounded soldiers will benefit by .a considerable amount as a result of the concert.
